Contraindications (Western) Associated with mild gastrointestinal effects: nausea, poor appetite, diarrhea; reactions are mild and transient

Pharmacological Effects • Antiparasitic: according to in vitro studies, paralyzed tapeworms in cattle and roundworms in pigs; also inhibited and killed young schistosomes; synergistic action observed when Nan Gua Zi was combined with Bing Lang (Semen Arecae)
