Dosages 9-15g (decoctions); 9-30g eaten by themselves
Contraindications (TCM) CI: Phlegm-fire or hot coughs, Yin Def w/ heat signs, and in those with watery stools.

Pharmacological Effects • Hematological: injection associated with mild anticoagulant and thrombolytic effects in dogs
• Anti-inflammatory: intravenous administration of preparation inhibited inflammation process in mice with acute otitis media
Herb-Drug Interactions • Anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs: anticoagulant and thrombolytic effects, should be used with caution in patients who take anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications; may potentiate the effect of drugs such as warfarin
