Contraindications (TCM) Cold from deficiency of Spleen and Stomach; caution during pregnancy or in absence of Blood stagnation

Chemical Composition Cirsimarin, pectolinarin, luleclin-7-glucoside, acacetin rhamnoglucoside, vitamin K
Pharmacological Effects • Hemostatic: charred Da Ji has demonstrated hemostatic properties and shortens bleeding time
• Antibiotic: alcohol tincture at a concentration of 1:30,000 demonstrated inhibitory effect on Mycobacterium tuberculosis, based on in vitro tests
• Cardiovascular: water or alcohol extract decreased heart rate and lowered blood pressure in experiments with dogs, cats and rabbits
Herb-Drug Interactions • Anticoagulant drugs: herb contains vitamin K, which may reduce anticoagulant effect of warfarin; use with caution to prevent formation of clots
• Incompatible with Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix)
