Dosages 1-3g (when used internally)
Contraindications (TCM) CI: Pregnancy, and Yin Def w/ Heat signs.
Prescribe with caution for internal use.

Pharmacological Effects • Gastrointestinal: oral administration may stimulate gastrointestinal tract, increase intestinal peristalsis, and promote bowel movement
• Respiratory: oral administration associated with marked antitussive effect in mice
Herb-Drug Interactions • This herb antagonizes or is antagonized by Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas)
