Contraindications (TCM) Caution in pregnancy, especially if there is history of miscarriage

Chemical Composition Protein, amino acid, organic acid, carbohydrates, lipids, essential oil
Pharmacological Effects • CNS suppressant: laboratory experiments show that it prevents and treats seizures, treats tetanus, prolongs sleeping time induced by barbiturates, reduces spontaneous activity and counters excitation induced by caffeine in mice
Herb-Drug Interactions • Sedatives: inhibitory influence on CNS; potentiates sedative effect of barbiturates, reduces stimulant effect of caffeine
