Chemical Composition Flavonoids (rutin 1.38-3.06%, quercetin, isoquercitrin),
moracetin, campesterol, lupeol, myoinsitol, inokosterone,
ecdysterone, hemolysin, moracelin, scopoletin, scoplin, phenolics hydroxycinnamic acid, 8-cyclohexenyflavones, cyclomorusin, oxydihydromorusin, astragalin,
morusenin A, B; hydroxycoumarin, essential oils (linalool, eugenol)
Pharmacological Effects • Antibiotic: bactericidal action against Staphylococcus aureus, 13-hemolytic streptococcus, Bacillus diphtheriae, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and leptospirosis
• Metabolic: associated with decreased blood glucose and serum cholesterol levels in rats
