Pharmacological Effects • Antibiotic: mild inhibitory effect against S. aureus and Bacillus dysenteriae
• Antineoplastic: reports on effect against cancer cells not consistent; preliminary reports indicate that it inhibits multiplication of cancer cells, though its clinical effectiveness has yet to be confirmed
• Antivenom: injection decreases mortality in mice bitten by poisonous snakes
