Formula Type Formulas that Drain Downward
Diagnosis Accumulation of water in the Stomach and Intestines with Qi Stagnation
Action Drives out water, scours out thin mucus, moves Qi, reduces distention
Indication Abdominal distention, borborygmus, dry mouth, constipation, reduced urination. T: yellow, greasy coat; P: wiry, slippery or submerged, full and slightly rapid
Remarks Should only be used short term; contraindicated when there is also Spleen Qi Deficiency
