Action Regulates Qi, opens constraint, moistens dryness, transforms phlegm
Indication Swallowing accompanied by choking sensation, or feeling f esophageal constriction or blockage, focal distention of chest and diaphragm, or distention accompanied by indistinct pain and relieved by belching, dry retching, or spitting up of phlegm or oral mucus; these primary symptoms may be accompanied by difficult bowel movements, dry mouth and throat, gradual emaciation. Remarks Contraindicated in cases of blood stasis characterized by inability to swallow food or vomiting of blood; in Yin deficiency with desiccated fluids and a tongue without coating; Qi and Yang deficiency accompanied by weight loss and fading spirits
